Content Transition Question

Over the past year or two my audience has greatly improved. I’ve worked on multiple sites/blogs in the past but never stuck with them due to time constraints, lack of interest, and lack of viewers. Youtube gave me my first big opportunity because it placed my content in a system with plenty of users who wanted the content I had to deliver. (It also helps that I prefer making videos than writing a 2,000 word posts) I thoroughly enjoying producing video content for you and don’t have any plans to slow down.
However, youtube has it’s limits and I do plan to expand my offerings. I want to aggregate my content in one central place: michael sherlock dot com. From youtube, to twitter, flickr, and all my other content medians the information needs to be centralized. My hope for this website is for my viewers to to enjoy all my content from this one place. I mean, I’m Michael Sherlock not TheRevivedOne. However, I need your input. Please check out the video bellow and leave feedback accordingly.
Thanks for the help,
Michael

Hey Michael,
That’s a great idea! I think you should move the content over to michaelsherlock.com. It would be easier to find your content because it’s all in one place. You may need to still put your videos, or at least post a video saying that you have moved to michaelsherlock.com, because some people still don’t know about your website.
Hope that helps,
Dan

Hi Michael,
I think it is a great idea to get everything in one place, BUT you should keep in mind that most people will just put in a search word in youtube and see what comes up. So I don’t think you should abandon youtube and move over to viddler completely. You’re audience will probably lose track of you. My opinion is that you could best post on youtube and embed on michealsherlock.com.
Something that is not completely clear to me is if you are going to post a personal blog aswell on the site. You have chosen to use your personal name as the “brand” so it is an option. For myself, I’m still not sure whether it is a good idea to combine a site on tech with advertisement with a personal blog section. Therefore I have chosen to use an alias for my domain.
I would like your opinion on that.

You know it could go both ways, but the truth is, your audience is on Youtube. Your site is great I love your blog posts. But I think that Youtube is right for you, because its easy for people who like your stuff to subscribe and get told when a new video comes up. I think you should apply for partnership and do both. But if it came down to choosing one I would have to say stick with youtube. Good Luck keep posting updates on twitter.

Good stuff. I think continuing to use YouTube as more of a way to help advertise and drive more traffic you this site would be good. You could do previews of the content you are posting here.
