Today, Apple unveiled their newest iPhone. The sixth generation iPhone, named the iPhone 5, is “the biggest thing to happen to iPhone since iPhone”. The new device is available for preorder September 14th and ships September 21st. It will ship in 16/32/64 gigabyte capacities for $199/$299/$399 respectively.
The iPhone 5 is radically different than the previous iPhone. Most notably, the iPhone 5 sports a 4″ display at 1136×640 pixels. The device is a mere 7.6mm thick and weighs in at only 112 grams. The body is made out of aluminum and glass in black or white color options. The new iPhone also sports an updated 8MP, backside illuminated camera. The new camera system has a dynamic low light mode, a panorama mode, and captures pictures 40% faster than previous models. It also records full 1080p video.
Internally, the iPhone 5 features an A6 processor that offers 2x faster CPU performance and 2x faster graphics performance compared to the A5 chip in the iPhone 4S. The iPhone 5 also offers LTE 4G connectivity while exceeding the battery life found on the 4S.
Some other notable updates include a 720p Facetime camera, a three microphone system for improved noise cancelation, a new 8pin, all digital connector called lightning, and support for HD voice.
